The 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver operates at 1310 nm over single-mode fiber (SMF) with a duplex LC connector, delivering 10 Gbps up to 10 km. It plugs into any SFP MSA slot, is hot-pluggable, and follows the SFF-8472 management interface.

Typical deployments

This is the workhorse for campus and metro links: building-to-building spans, ISP aggregation and backhaul up to 10 km over standard G.652 single-mode fiber, one strand per direction on duplex LC.
